Check your resume against 33 named checks

Drop a PDF, Word file or pasted text. Every check has a name, the lines it refers to and the points a fix adds, so the total is the literal sum. The file never leaves your browser.

Common questions

What does the score mean?

The total out of 100 is the sum of the points earned across five pillars of 20: parsing, structure, impact, language and readability. Each open check shows exactly how many points fixing it adds.

Is my resume uploaded?

No. The file is read in your browser and the checks run there too. The only thing sent to our server is a count that a check ran, with no content attached.

Why can the builder show a different total for the same text?

Three checks measure the document itself: section headings, layout and length. This tool measures the uploaded file; the builder measures the page it renders. Every other check scores the same text identically, and both show the text-only subtotal so you can compare.

Do I need an account?

No. The check is free and unlimited without signing in. Opening the result in the builder also works without an account; everything stays in this browser until you choose to sync.

Which files work?

PDF with selectable text, Word (.docx) and plain text up to 8 MB, or pasted text up to 20,000 characters. A scanned PDF has no text to read, so paste the text or export a text PDF instead.
